Nigerian immigrants warned to stay away from Libya.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, senior special assistant to the president on foreign affairs and diaspora, has warned Nigerian migrants against travelling to Libya, saying the penalty, when caught, is death.
Dabiri-Erewa made the warning in a statement she issued on Monday, following the emergence of videos and photographs of Nigerians being killed in the North African country.
“The attention of the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has been drawn to a video and pictures being circulated on the purported killing of black immigrants in Libya,” she said.
“While the authenticity of the pictures and tapes in question cannot be verified, it is a known fact that Libya has been executing alleged black illegal immigrants for years.
“As the Chairman Committee on Diaspora in the House of Representatives in the Seventh Assembly, we intervened in the case of 24 Nigerians about to be killed in Libya.”
She said the committee, in collaboration with Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), an NGO, petitioned the UN, AU, ECOWAS, and Ghadaffi yielded to pressure and released them.
“As at two months ago, NEMA, alongside the Nigerian Embassy in Libya, evacuated over 2000 Nigerians from Libya,” she said.
“The Nigerian embassy in Libya, working with NEMA, has relentlessly intervened in cases involving Nigerians in trouble in Libya and will continue to do so.
“Libyans are dealing with their own struggles as there is no recognised government in place.
“The office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora hereby appeals again to Nigerian migrants to avoid Libya as penalty for illegal migration to Libya, when caught, is usually a death sentence.”

‘Christians Cannot Sit Down And Allow Themselves To Be Killed – Cardinal John Onaiyekan

Due to the recent killings in Southern Kaduna, Cardinal John Onaiyekan has warned that the continued killing will soon lead to reprisal attacks if the government fails to arrest the situation and prosecute the perpetrators.
The Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Diocese disclosed this in an interview with The Punch and added that it was normal that Nigerians were worried about the killing by Fulani herdsmen particularly with the silence of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Read excerpts from the interview below;
“It would have been terrible if Nigerians were not worried. If we look back, we will find out that these things (killings) have been going on for quite some time. There was a major outbreak after the 2011 election. Southern Kaduna suffered a great haemorrhage during the post-election violence. The violence recorded numerous killings that were clearly ethnic and religious. We know that at the end of it all, many people were driven into refugee status in Kaduna. Many Hausa and Muslims had to take refuge in Kaduna because they were not safe anymore in the southern part of the state. What caused that? I don’t know if it was ever fully investigated. As usual, when they investigate an issue, we don’t get the full report. What we know is that late Governor Patrick Yakowa was said to have taken some effective actions that tried to calm nerves. We know Governor Nasir el Rufai very well. We expect that he would have devised ways and means of dealing with the situation.
“I have passed through Southern Kaduna in the last few months, and when I travelled from here (Abuja) to Jos through those areas, my host in Kaduna was surprised that I passed through Kafanchan. He said, “That (route) is a very dangerous area, don’t take that road anymore.” It is a pity if the President is badly informed about the reality. I open my email and I see all kinds of horrible pictures. Maybe Mr. President does not have the time to check emails. But the President of Nigeria must have somebody who is checking emails for him and whoever is doing that should have the courage to let him see what he is seeing.

MMM May Crash Finally This Week –

Help Provider

There are indications that the final crash of Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, a ponzi scheme popularly known as MMM, may be nearer than expected as more intending help providers (Provide Help) continue to renege on their promises to pay help seekers (Get Help), Daily Sun reports.
Promoters of the scheme had re-awakened the interest of many subscribers when it announced the return of the scheme on Friday, January 13, a day earlier than the expected return date given, but the euphoria that greeted the unfreezing of the scheme was short lived following the inability of members to get paid.
While announcing its return penultimate Friday, operators of the scheme had announced that the scheme would attend to small investors first while subscribers with bigger financial commitments would have to wait a bit longer.
This was, however, not to be as theapplications of those who signified interest in getting help (GH) were cancelled while intending help providers (PH) were put on hold. Promoters of the scheme had attributed the delay to upgrade of the system.
However, when some help seekers (GH) were eventually matched with intending help providers (PH) on Friday, findings by Sunday Sun showed that a good number of intending help providers reneged on their promises to pay.
Some mavrodians, who spoke to Daily Sun correspondent, blamed the failure of help providers to fulfill their promises on the growing uncertainties surrounding the scheme. A subscriber, who simply identified himself as Michael, said he refused to pay the help seeker he was matched with because he no longer believed in the scheme. “I waspaired to PH but I declined because I am not sure if I will ever get my moneyback. Some people I know to have been paired have also declined to pay. The way things are unfolding, the scheme cannot survive this week,” he said.
Narrating her inability to get help despite having been paired, a subscriber who gave her name as Rolake, said: “I was paired to get help but none of my PHs has responded.
When I called to remind them yesterday, two of them promised that they would pay me but when I called them this morning neither of them picked my calls,” she said.
But while many help providers continue to ditch the scheme, Sunday Sun gathered that there are few others who are still willing to give help.
Subscribers, who belong to this category, it was gathered, are largely those who have their money trapped in the system and who have also signified interest to give help.
One of them who claimed to have N200, 000 trapped in the scheme said he was compelled to pay somebody yesterday because of fear of losing his money.
“I paid somebody yesterday because I don’t want my account blocked. I have N200, 000 in my account before it was suspended last year and since I had also indicated intention to provide help.
If I didn’t provide the help, my account would be blocked and that simply means I would lose all my money,” the subscriber who gave his name as Ebuka said, adding that, “it is easy to back out only if you don’t have money in your account.”

Presidency Denies Claims That Buhari Is Dead

The Presidency has denied speculations in several quarters in Abuja and beyond over the weekend that President Muhammadu Buhari had passed on at a London hospital where he was said to be receiving treatment.
As the day wore on, the rumours gained ground after a news website published a story that the President was dead.
The rumour soon spread like wild fire in different parts of the country with many Nigerians making frantic phone calls to ascertain the story’s accuracy.
The presidency however said on Saturday that there was no truth in the news.
Buhari had on Thursday travelled to London, United Kingdom, after writing to the National Assembly that he would be proceeding on a vacation and that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo would be performing the duties of the President while he was away.
“The report is hogwash,” the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, simply said when our correspondent contacted him.
Adesina also denied the report on his Twitter handle, praying for those behind it to repent.
“Best wishes to all who wish PMB well. As for those who carry evil rumours, may they receive grace to repent,” he said.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, also took to his Twitter handle to deny the report.
Shehu wrote, “He is alive and well. President Buhari is not magical. He cannot be holidaying in the UK and be in Germany, dead or alive at the same time.
“He is unlike a past president, who was at Ota with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and attending the Trump inauguration in DC, being in two places at the same time.”
Shortly after the rumor began to spread on Saturday, PUNCH observed that the President’s family members were unperturbed in Aso Rock.

Man Rapes, Marries 14-Year-Old Girl.

A 32 year old man, Mvumeleni Jezile has been sentenced to 22 years in jail for marrying a 14 year old girl, (her name not revealed), he had previously raped.
The incident happened in Ngcobo South Africa.

The victim found herself in “modern-day slavery”, in the words of a Wynberg magistrate, when she was sold for R8 000 and forced to marry a Jezile who held her captive and beat her for sex.
On Thursday, Wynberg Regional Court Magistrate Daleen Greyvensteyn sentencedJezile to an effective 22 years in jail for three counts of rape, human trafficking and assault.
Greyvensteyn said the situation had been terrifying for the Eastern Cape teenager, who had just finished Grade 7. She went to a nearby shop on behalf of an elder and the next moment she was sold to marry a man she didn’t know.
The girl was taken from her home and forced to go through a customary marriage to Jezile on February 2010. She escaped and ran back home. But her uncle and grandmother, who participated in the negotiations for Jezile’s bride, took her back to him.
Soon afterwards, the girl was put on a taxi bound for Cape Town. The girl lived with Jezile at his home in Brown’s Farm, Philippi, and was raped several times and beaten with a broomstick, whip and belt. She escaped again and fled to the police.
She is back with her mother in the Eastern Cape.
The case is the Western Cape’s first case of ukuthwala: the traditional practice of kidnapping a young woman in an attempt to force marriage negotiations. It is also the second human trafficking conviction.
Greyvensteyn said the girl was degraded and forced into a life of servitude. As a makoti “young bride” she was expected to cook and clean for her husband. “(But) the complainant was resilient and strong-willed with dreams of finishing school and marrying for love.”
“It’s intolerable that very serious crimes such as trafficking, rape and assault are committed under the guise of culture, tradition and religion. Both parties to any marriage must consent thereto. Hiding behind now defunct customs to satisfy one’s own needs must be discouraged.”
The court found substantial and compelling circumstances to deviate from the prescribed minimum sentence of life imprisonment for raping a child.
The victim impact report states that the girl suffered from insomnia and when she fell asleep was haunted by nightmares.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesman Eric Ntabazalila welcomed the sentence, saying it was the most severe penalty handed to someone convicted of human trafficking in South Africa. In 2011, in Lusikisiki Regional Court, a human trafficker was sentenced to seven years in jail.

Shame Of Nigeria - Statistics Of Violence Against Women.

25 per cent of women in Nigeria have to go through ordeal of domestic violence. The worst forms of them are battering, trafficking, rape and homicide, report claims.

While domestic violence is a violation of fundamental human rights, which the Nigerian Constitution is against, there are still provisions that make it legal to engage in domestic violence against women.
Every fourth Nigerian woman suffers domestic violence in her lifetime, claims report by a consultant psychiatrist, Dr Maymunah Kadiri.

In her statement to press Ms. Kadiri told that the worst forms of domestic violence are rape and homicide, and that domestic violence is one of the major social issues in Nigeria. Battering and trafficking are other grave forms of abuse experienced by Nigerian girls and women. Battered women suffer physical and mental problems as a result of domestic violence. Kadiri considers domestic violence to have serious destructive social consequences including physical and psychological disorders.
And the poorer the women are the greater for them is the risk of suffering from domestic violence.
Women with fewer resources or greater perceived vulnerability, girls and those experiencing physical or psychiatric disabilities or living below the poverty line are at greater risk of domestic violence and lifetime abuse” claimed Ms. Kadiri in his report. "Children are also affected by domestic violence even if they do not witness it directly,’’ said in her statement.

Also, despite Nigeria’s constitution vows to eliminate discrimination and violence against women and promotes the idea of freedom, equality and justice, Nigerian womens' rights are often violated with impunity.
This research provides information about domestic violence in Nigeria and has as its objectives to facilitate the activities of professional counselors such as clergy” said in her statement.
Domestic violence in Nigeria is a problem as in many parts of Africa. There is a deep cultural belief in Nigeria that it is socially acceptable to hit a woman to discipline a spouse. Domestic violence is widespread and shows no signs of lessening in Nigeria.

Man jailed for sexual assault on 80-year-old woman in Malawi.

A 54-year-old man identified as Biwi Ephraim has been jailed for sexually assaulting an 80-year-old woman in Dowa, Malawi. According to Dowa Police Public Relation Officer, Richard Kaponda, the incident happened on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, when the victim was coming from Chiponda village where she went to drink beer. He said the court heard that the suspect followed the victim as she left the bar on her way back home and dragged the victim to a nearby bush where he sexually abused her.
After four people testified against him and a medical report from Mvera Mission hospital revealed that the woman was indeed raped, he was arrested.

Appearing before the court, Ephraim pleaded with the court to forgive him saying he has a wife and seven children and that he was old.

But Magistrate Emulani Phiri who presided over the case sentenced him to an immediate two and half years imprisonment with hard labour, as he had 'specifically targeted a vulnerable victim' due to the fact that she was drunk.

Nigerians and gay

Who else noticed.

The amount of lesbians and gay in Nigeria
Only get worse day by day..especially in the eastern part of the country.
At Ebonyi state,I did an interview and observed that 60% of the girls are lesbians not just Ebonyi state the whole east and the whole country. And now how do we identify those friends.
Most of this gay guys has girls qualities, walk, talk dress, eat like girls, while most of them are just so normal you'd never notice. Firstly mind how they look at you, listen to what they say, they sometimes try to make hints, the kind of things they like, the kind of movies the watch..
You notice a guy is always saying a fellow guy is so beautiful and hot.Am not saying they are all gay it's just be careful so your hole won't get bursted..

This lesbians are very easy to identity
If she says I don't like sex it's painful beware.
If she plays with your breast or keeps on looking at your breast not everything is a joke you know...
If she always talk about fingering and sucking breast be careful
If she despise boys be careful
Most of them say there heart was broken its a lie..
When you notice this and you are against it just tell the person your not interested ,do not smile when saying this, you have to be serious for the person to know you aren't joking.
Try all possible ways to stop the person, try talking to the person you know..But if gets beyond your power call the police..

I Have Agreed To Go Into Exile’ – Yahya Jammeh

Gambia’s former president, Yahya Jammeh will now leave Banjul on Saturday with President Alpha Conde of Guinea, to begin a new life in exile.
This followed Friday’s final peace move by Conde and Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.
The two West African leaders travelled to Banjul to persuade the long ruling Jammeh to leave peacefully before West African forces pounced on him.
In a statement issued on state TV Friday night, Jammeh announced that he was stepping down, a superfluous announcement as he was already no more the leader, having been denied recognition by the world.
All indications are that Jammeh will be going into exile in Guinea.
A senior adviser to new President Adama Barrow said talks to finalise the exile deal were holding up his exit.
“I can assure you that he has agreed to leave,” Mai Ahmad Fatty, Barrow’s special advisor, told Reuters in Senegal’s capital Dakar. He could not say where Jammeh would go into exile.
Jammeh, in power since a 1994 coup, initially conceded defeat to Barrow following a Dec. 1 election before back-tracking, saying the vote was flawed

Donald Trump Inauguration: Trump Arrives at the Capitol for his Swearing-In

“shock and awe.”

Incoming president meets outgoing president

Mr. Trump, who will be sworn in as the 45th president within hours, went to the White House to meet with President Obama, the 44th.
The president met his successor on the gracious front steps on a red carpet and shortly thereafter, the first awkward moment came — Melania Trump handing Michelle Obama what looked like a large Tiffany and Co. box, and leaving the Obamas wondering what to do with it (and the world wondering what was in it.)

The soon-to-be-president attended church

Mr. Trump will take the oath of office under gray skies and drizzle, but first, he and his family took cover in St. John’s Episcopal Church across Lafayette Park from the White House.
